Speaking of the January meeting… it will be on Tuesday, January 26th at 7p.m. at 2nd Presbyterian Church at the corner of Cantrell & I-430. Our speaker will be Jillian Elwart from Hanger Orthopedic Group. Her subject is The J. E. Hanger Story. He was the first amputee of the Civil War.

Monday, January 18, in the Arkansas Democrat/Gazette was an article of a Civil War museum opening in Hot Springs, AR. It will be called The Civil War Museum West. Its focus is on the Trans-Mississippi Theater. The article stated that the museum will be opened the latter part of 2016 but that a “museum-preview-center trailer will open next month (assuming February) in the Regions Bank parking lot in downtown Hot Springs.” There will be copies of this article at the January meeting.
Minutes, November 24, 2015 meeting
Meeting was called to order by President, Jan Sarna.
Quorum was declared.
Treasurer reported that we have $3,186.64 in the bank.
New Business:
Motion was made and seconded to keep the officers as they are for 2016. Motion passed.
Motion was maded and seconded to spend $80.00 for a ad in the Free Press of Arkansas. Motion passed.
Program Chairman, Lonnie Spikes, introduced our speaker, Drew Hodges. Drew’s talk will be on a little known general, General Nathan George “Shanks” Evans.

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 7p.m. at 2nd Presbyterian Church, Cantrell at I-430.
